Diamond Brite pool plaster fading?

We were happy with the plaster application to our pool but after two years the “blue” provided by Tahoe Blue has faded quite a bit and it’s closer to the old aqua color when it was plastered white. I’ve been doing some reading and the #1 cause seems to be chemical interaction. We do regular maintenance for chemical balance but the whole idea seems ludicrous to me. Unless one uses distilled water, there’s ALWAYS going to be a chem. reaction. Warranty seems much of nothing as I can’t defend chemical interaction.

in considering a redo, somebody is suggestion an acid wash, isn’t that more chemicals?

your comments are appreciated. In the meantime, it seems the science of colored pool plaster has been too new to have anticipated what would actually happen. Warranties on product quality might have been written too hastily. I’m not talking application, strictly product.
