Should I be worried about my cactus?

This is my first time owning a prickly pear cactus. I’m concerned as to what the little raised yellow bumps on it’s pads are and don’t know whether or not to be concerned. If anyone could provide some info it’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They look very much like scale. Sooner you take care of them - better, as it could spread all over this plant and any nearby.

You can use rubbing alcohol. Moisten q-tip or cotton ball with it and dab right on the scale. It will kill it very fast.

Like rina says, take a cotton swab moistened with rubbing alcohol and just rub the lesions back and forth until it loosens. If it comes off easily then it's dead and if it takes some effort then it's hiding under this waxy bivvy sucking on your prickly pear!
