According to Division of Natural Resources, one of the best plants for erosion control is Panicum virgatum, because of its expansive root system. Most ornamental grasses offers this characteristic but Panicum exceeds it. Some of the other plants in this picture are Itea, Shasta Daisey, Purple Coneflower, Nepeta, Carpet Rose, Eupatorium and Sweetbay Magnolia.
