I'd leave the cabinets the original color and put in a hardwood floor and a black or dark gray counter top. I'll bet the cabinet color would look better with a different color counter top. But I think it all depends on what style you like; country, cottage, contemporary etc. That's where I'd start - your style.

mrsmeow, thanks for the ideas. I tend to like very clean lines. I love mid-century modern (but not atomic age). Nothing country or traditional.

Here are a few colour palettes from my "paint" board on Pinterest. I pulled them based on your floor, but of course my monitor might be seeing the colour of your floor incorrectly. Might be something here that works for you.

You might experiment with darker colors around the cabinets. That might change the way you perceive the color.

I like how different it is, everyone is going for more modern piece but I think mixing the cabinets with dark hard wood floors would look beautiful. In the end it only matters if you're happy with the results, you're the one that has to live with it :)

Embrace the 50's! You could send the cabs to an auto body shop for a real paint job in a color which is complementary to your floor, then get a retro mosaic backsplash like this:
