I am going out on a limb and saying the polished chrome is the most chosen. I recently toured our area Parade of Homes and almost all of the high-end builders were installing polished chrome everywhere - kitchen and bath. This light was used in several of the homes and it is stunning. Just the right mix of contemporary and traditional. However, the brushed gold tones were also used in several of the homes and were beautiful. My advice to anyone who is not going to be in their home for several years is to go with the chrome. As beautiful and stunning as the brushed goldtones are, I do not think this trend is going to be around for very long - my personal/professional opinion. The flip side is that this fixture is not so expensive that you couldn't replace as design trends change. I have personally purchased and installed several Savoy House light fixtures in my home and my client's and have always issues with installation - screw holes don't match existing electrical boxes, etc. If you have an older home, pre 2000, you may have to make a fiddle a bit to install and/or make a trip to local hardware store for different screws, etc. I hope this was helpful
