Try doing a search in Houzz photos - something like "house with walkout basement exterior" - you will have to plow through a lot of pretty grandiose photos but you may find a few that give you some ideas.

Sadly this is so it’s to search! I feel your pain. We struggled with it too. But in the end it was our designer who put on paper what we had in our mind. We also have a sloped lot and a walkout basement in the works.

Your land sounds spectacular. You are quite wise, to have your new home designed to suit the lot, take advantage of your views and meet your personal wants/needs. It seems, you may be building in Canada, given your plans from Beaver lumber, (we also are from Canada) Searchig for the perfect home via online plans, is an endeavor in futility. After wasting an inordinate amount of time looking through hundreds of online plans, we realized thst none met our wants/needs. Further, none fit nor suited our lot. This forum proved to be an invaluable source of learning and education. It helped us realize that we needed to have someone to design our home specifically to our situation. We devised a needs/wants list, found our architect on this forum and are more than pleased with our new home to be. Best of luck on your journey!

The architect you go see will have picture of it or be able to draw it. Quit wasting your time.

An architect can do a design that not only meets your needs but also makes the design work on your property and that is IMO the way to go. If you find a floor plan you like then take it with you and see what happens.There will not be the perfect one on the internet .

I will say I did get lots of ideas from Houzz as to what a walkout basement can look like and we were able to give our thoughts about deck placement and windows to the designer. That information I gleaned from Houzz photos. It was just tid bits vs a whole floor plan but it helped.

@summit, Totally agree with Mark. Thought you were considering doing remotes or offering online plans/design services. You definetly would understand the climate issues faced by those of us living in the cold north. (:

I have done remote projects in the past and can get a license in most states if needed. I'm just not sure how that would work in Canada.
