running bamboo spreads quickly, the kind you have which is the clumping bamboo does not. You may want to plant some running bamboo if you want the forest effect

I would advise against planting running bamboo in the yard. You will be creating a nightmare for you neighbors.

why would it be a nightmare?

Running bamboo is very invasive and very difficult and laborious to remove....It's been a year and I'm still removing it from my backyard that has been overcome by it thanks to my neighbor not knowing how to contain it!! What a nightmare!

use "remedy" That is how I got rid of mine. I cut it down and sprayed the new shoots.

I have always loved bamboo, mine is higher than my house, 12ft, rooftop!
