I forgot to add I'm leaning towards Chibikko and Red Robin, but I am open to considering other varieties. I'm intrigued with Lime Green Salad.

I have been growing Hahms Gelbe for several years and absolutely love it. I saved seeds from dozens of fruit a few years back and filled half of a pill bottle with them. Germination rates are almost always 100%. Grown to maturity indoors, the fruits generally stay more yellow and on the acidic side, but once I transition them outside, the fruits ripen to a brilliant orange and are very sweet. Maximum height *might* hit 12", but most plants remain in the 6-10" range and can be very successfully grown in very small containers.

This season, I am venturing into Tiny Tim, Mohamed and about 4 other micro varieties. I have started the seeds for TT and Mohamed, both of which had about 85% success rate. The others were just ordered and should arrive this week.

Same with Lime Green Salad. I was impressed by your positive experience, though I didn't realize it was a dwarf tomato instead of micro dwarf.
nbm1981 - I saw Hahms Gelbe on the Heritage Seed Market website, but I am now going to have take another appreciative look.

Tony - Thanks for the thread. It was really informative. I was surprised to read that Tiny Tim does better in some shade than full sun. And thanks for the comparison between Tiny Tim and Red Robin. It was helpful and it dispel any preconceptions I had about Tiny Tim being fruitful but bland tasting.

Btw have you ever grown the micro dwarf tomatoes indoors only? I live in the city so my outdoor space is very limited. I would love to grow the micro dwarf tomatoes year-round indoors if possible as my place gets good light throughout year. I'm hoping whatever I am unable to plant this summer I can try planting and growing indoors during the post-summer. I'm really excited about the micro dwarf tomatoes.

Miscel -- outside in the summer heat they develop much better flavor and juice, but, than again they also p/u diseases....

Indoors you need minimum 5 hrs direct sunlight to get a decent harvest. With 6 hrs you'll get a nice one, 7+ hrs will give a bounty!

With any tom, flavor is often strongly influenced by one's growing conditions. Flavor can even vary from year to year.

OoC, how much fruit does one typically get off a micro or dwarf type?

Paul -- usually 60+ cherries from micros.
