I have not decided which path I will take today. Right now I am watching the birds at my “feeder tree,” a large white spruce tree in the front yard.

I have several fat-quarters washed and dried that I want to press and the first “Baby Bud” pieces ready to sew.

I want to go to Jo-Ann’s to get two more ArtBin containers, but that is about a 90-mile round trip. I try to limit my runs “to town” to twice a month or less so I may order them from Amazon.

I was in town last Friday to have the Bernina lady adjust a spring in my walking foot. On the way home I hit black ice, spun all over the road, narrowly missed an on-coming car, went airborn, and landed at an acute angle down an embankment. It turned into a comedy of errors with other vehicles sliding off in the same area.

No one was hurt; my muscles are bit stiff from the impact but are doing fine. I just don’t feel like getting back in the saddle today.

We’re expecting a bad snow storm beginning tonight, so that’s pushing my plans even more toward “stay at home and sew”!

I’m also doing de-cluttering, purging, and re-purposing in the sewing room. I could stay busy in there for weeks! :)

Beautiful weather in central FL, too. Temp in the 70s, low humidity and lots of sunshine!

I’ve been cross stitching. I think I’m getting close to the “put it away” point. LOL. This afternoon I have a concert so after that I’m just going to relax.

Caroline, I'm glad you are OK. How did your car fare? Since we moved to central Ohio, I am about 2 miles from JoAnn Fabrics. I find I don't buy as much with each trip since I am closer. I always had to stock up when it was a long trip to the store.

Oh Caroline! I remember a similar experience coming back from a sewing class, but thankfully I was able to stay on the road. Scary! Stay out of the saddle for a day anyway, just to let nerves and everything else settle down.

I'm so glad you survived all that, Caroline. These storms have been awful.

I have finished my 42 6" blocks and am now sorting out a border. On Monday I am off to quilt shops with friends for a break and lunch out. Heading up to the wine country. It will be good to get away briefly as I sort out all hubby's appointments over the next three weeks as he heads into a heart valve replacement. Somewhere in that I have to fly to Mom's to check on her and stock up her supplies. It will be a busy month. But, hope to come home Monday with a few bits that will help me compile an applique project I can take along for sitting in waiting rooms. Fondling fabric always calms me.

Happy to know you are safe after that icy incident, Caroline! I'd probably want to stay home, too!

I managed a quick trip to pick up some batiks & Kona black for couple of March blocks. I chose some green and turquoise for my colors. The bottom fabric was simply calling out my name, and I had to have a bit of it.

I've been trying to clear out and part of that process was making pet beds for the shelter. I made eight and that's done. I couldn't hold back any longer and started cutting out fabric for a strip quilt. I bought a bunch of a fish pattern online for 70% off, but found the background color..,rusty red...was very hard to match. I'm just going to make 10" squares and alternate with 10" string blocks. I sometimes have trouble coordinating the scraps (I do ok if I have all the options in a store) so not sure how it is going to come out. It's for the kids in Africa.

My son brought my old machine in the cabinet down to my bedroom, so I can now sew on either level! When I go upstairs, I get sucked in and go to bed too late. I figure if I'm sewing in my bedroom, I'll quit sooner and go to bed.

I'm so glad you are ok, Caroline! Life can change in an instant.

Well the weekend is over, and yes I sewed. First is was extremely windy Saturday, so I hunkered down in the sewing room, but was "out of sorts" all day. I did manage to cut the sashing for the lotto blocks I won in my guild, and came up with a game plan for the top. I crashed very early Saturday night, got up at 6am and felt great and started sewing. I had a few start and stops, but the top is just about complete, I'll post a pic this coming weekend, it's not your traditional block, and it very bright, but I like it!
