They wouldn't in the same space as the scale is too similar and both are busy. I would think a lot would depend on the other furnishings and patterns of the rooms, wood colors and flooring. Maybe if you post other photos? If you haven't made the purchase yet, I'd suggest going with the rug and finding other curtain fabric as there are many to choose from and from my experience a solid perhaps with a border is better for longevity, considering how pricy custom window treatments are.

The rug is already there. Trying to sort out the drapes. Navy looks great against the light warm grey wall color and gives the room a much needed pop of color. Thought a solid would look to heavy. I love the fabric on it's own, but it's not cozying up to the rug very well. Back to the drawing board...

If you are in love with the fabric, does it come in other color ways? In a black and white, perhaps?

Natural wood blinds would work well with the rug for starters and then hang solid curtains on each side to soften. Depending on the windows- can you post a photo? A pleated Roman shade might be another option.

It's difficult to tell color precisely based on pictures on a computer. But my monitor makes the printed drape fabric to look cool and the brown rug appears to have a warm tone. It's also alot of pattern to take in visually. Pictures of the rooms where you're considering hanging them would be helpful.

As colors together, not imo - unless a fab unity happened by a charcoal feature fp, etc.. [repeating rug's grey].... and navy this or that... as colors, together, they're conservative... Why not a color with rug? is it texture/flat weave?

I can see it's a pattern, and this sort of organic might work if you had patterned pillows, to change more easily... ? many more of these fabrics.

Drapes are for panels on each side of a large corner window (with woven wood shades) in the dining room. Entry and office are off that room. Office rug image to follow...

Patterned rug in office atea

This is looking at the dining room from the office. Widows are to the right near far end of table. A work in progress, hence the desire to find a drape and go from there. Navy looks very nice in the room.

Honestly, the 2 patterns and colorways do not work together at all. If you are looking for curtains to work with the dark gray rug I'd go for something neutral and textural but solid in color. Maybe a deep warm beige in a nubby material.

I guess I was thinking the space could use some color (orange? Navy?) I view the dark gray rug color as a neutral. But the pattern is not. As much as I like the rug and fabric on their own, I see that I cannot make them work together. Next decision is which one should go...

After looking at both photos, I suggest you find another place for the Grey area Rug currently in the office. It’s too small for the room, sort of a postage stamp look that makes your room look smaller.

I love the DR rug and furnishings. The navy fabric looks terrific with it all.

Agree, one needs to go. You could keep the black/charcoal from rug transitioning into DR with a drape fabric with charcoal, cream and a third color (if you desire to add color with texture). I would strive for a different scaled pattern or perhaps a bold horizontal stripe. Wondering how the rug will function under a desk chair that needs to slide in and out from desk?
