Both your floors and countertops have patterns, so you need to go super simple for the backsplash like a subway tile. Adding another busy pattern is only going to overwhelm your kitchen and distract from the beautiful features you already have.

Would this be subtle enough with white grout?

It still looks too busy IMO

Have you considered stainless steel for the backsplash?

I used dark gray glass subway tiles with my summerhill countertops. They compliment the counters but don't compete.

You have a very busy countertop and your backsplash should complement it not compete with it. Please read Maria Killam's advice....

Thank you! I literally planned this kitchen forever!! I looked back at magazine pictures I had ripped out and saved from 1980 and they were all white kitchens!! Thankfully, my husband and son and sister helped me find my voice and I was able to get the kitchen I had always dreamed of!!

Everyone is telling you to stay away from a busy backsplash: that means NO to multicolor tiles, NO to fancy-shape tiles, and NO to patterned tiles. NO to multicolor penny rounds. Your busy counters want quiet tiles in simple shapes, a solid color which exactly matches one of the lighter colors in the counter material. You want to compliment your counters, not set up a competition for attention. You could match the background color of the counter or match a prominent color in the busy area of the counter. A backsplash tile which does not match a color in the counter will clash with the counter. You came to this forum for help. You have our suggestions and comments to back up our suggestions. Take it or leave it.

MB this is the tile we utilized, it is a perfect match with the Cambria Summerhill. We selected reef, color moonshine and when you lay it on the counter the color is such a perfect match it disappears. The tile is also highly reflective, some think it’s glass but it is not...simply stunning and changes colors during the day and evening.

We cannot say enough about the Cambria Summerhill, it is a work of art. The only caution is slab size, our island is 10 feet thus we have a seam. Some Cambria come in larger slabs, so keep that in mind if you do not want a seam and have a large island.

If you need a seam be sure to evaluate the placement!

I believe we followed the recommendations and love the result. The tile is subway, does have texture but no pattern and matches the gray in the Cambria Summerhill perfectly!

Thank you for asking about the floors, they turned out beyond our expectations.

Tile by Refin, color Hall, they can be laid in different patterns but we selected straight with the large X crossing the floor. They are large format rectified tiles thus you need a talented installer to ensure proper alignment.

Tile has texture, feels like wood to the touch, no one can believe it is tile..highly recommended!

I love those floors. real parquet wood would be so expensive to do, so the tiles are a nice alternative.

mmontal, what backsplash tile is that with the Summerhill? I love it!

What’s on the wall appears grey. What’s on the counter appears brown. The only place you need. Higher backsplash is above the stove.

The tile is called Reef-Lunda Bay is the manufacturer. Scroll up in the thread for more details. It truly is a perfect match for Summerhill quartz and reflects so much light during the day.
