The info you've provided is extremely helpful. Seems the E-Series is a better oven overall than the M and that is what I was leaning towards but I will definitely make sure to look at all available options. Thank you so much!

just for reference, i have the E series, 5 years old and have had no problems with blue enamel chipping.

sprtphntc7a, I am curious if you ever run the self clean? The chipping is sometimes but not always after that. Mine was after self clean at 4.5 years.

There is not really a set way they handle customers. You can search back on this forum to see. First they will tell you it is normal or “cosmetic”. If you don’t buy into that they will keep replacing ovens for two years during the warranty. One person here had 3 replacements and finally got her money back. If you have a problem after that you can haggle with them to try to get something done with this known problem. Some people have paid more $$$ for an “upgrade” to beat the problem only to have the problem again. It seems to me that if Wolf has a safety issue like this, they would trade what you have for a safe one and quit making the bad one. The problem is even the M which was supposed to be the fix has chipping too. It is made so the bottom can come out. My experience with a 36” DF range after negotiating, was that they would give me the liner but I had to pay an unknown amount starting @ $800 to have it fixed. “We don’t know what we will find”. I read online of someone paying $2500 to have theirs fixed. They would only guarantee the part for one year. There are a couple of lawsuits over this online if you google it.

Read what I wrote above if you buy it. Get the longest service agreement that has no exclusions that you can. Enamel may be deemed cosmetic. It is shards of glass delaminating from the oven. One person here had their hand cut. All I know is that that can’t be good mixed with a convection fan. I don’t care to breath it or have it get in my food.

My 5 yo E-series has had cracked enamel for the last 3 years, Wolf has no response that doesn't cost quite a bit of $$ to address. I love my Wolf CSO but will no longer look at Wolf products even if the issue is resolved. They've been way to lax and unsupportive with this problem.

This is most disconcerting for me as I was considering the Wolf CSO and wanted a matching oven. Seems like an expensive gamble of a purchase even if one never intends to use the self-clean function.

Yeah, I inferred that from your post. Thank you, wekick. I'm not shying away from the Wolf CSO, despite this. It makes my oven selection all the more difficult. :(

If you hand-scrub the Wolfe ovens, does the enamel still chip?

It might. Some have chipped without running the self clean.

I just purchased an M series double oven and did not know any of this before doing so. Hope I have better success..

My Wolf M electric double ovens with convection have been replaced 2 times already and not sure this 3rd one is without problems . I had the main board and the fan replaced on this one. The ovens were originally purchased in 2016.

I M looking at the e series electric wall oven ( which is cheaper than the m series) . I asked the showroom a simple question- how many passes is the broiler. She didn’t even know what a pass was. I said that every other oven lists the specs including the wattage of the bake and broil features. Why is wolf so difficult to find these answers. Anyway, the answer was 8 passes which seems very little to me. Bosch is 12, cafe is 10. I need to make a decision within the next few weeks. Wolf did better than bosch in consumerreports and there was no reporting of the enamel chipping. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What about the differences in 2026 models between e-series and m-series steam convection?
