The recipe is in the first post. Join in on the fun.

I like ProMix. Easy to water.

Burned Rice Husk / raw rice husk

Cocopeats

Vermicompost

Garden soil

( 3 : 2 : 1 : 1 )

Its my recipe. All those things are very common here.

I use the 5-1-1 predominately, but modify it for different plants per water preferences.

It's cheaper, but more labor intensive to track down the ingredients and mix it yourself. Once you have sourced all the ingredients, it only takes about 15 minutes to mix a big batch. I store it in a trash can with a garbage bag and keep it sealed well so it doesn'g get dried out and Hygrophobic.

Big batch:
2-3 cu ft pine bark fines
5 gallons peat
5 gallons perlite
2 cups dolomitic garden lime

I have been using for decades...top soil mixed with sheep manure...it did the trick but gets heavy and compacted at one point in the season. Will definitely try some of your options. Thanks!
