One thing to be mindful of is exposed cords. You may not be irritated by them now but over time they can be a sore sight. Consider some dark brown track lights on the beams. If you angle/direct the light appropriately, you should be able to create good ambience and versatile lighting.

Your decision depends on how big the room is and how tall the ceiling is. The fixture you have posted are way too small.

I don't think any fixture less than 36" in diameter should be considered. You might want to consider a decorative chandelier for the center and track lighting secured to the beams for supplemental lighting in the room.
