I don't think a chrome or nickel finish is right your home. Your space needs a fixture that you can actually see in the space and your selection, though lovely, faces into the wall. Either of these fixtures below are less expensive than the fixture you have chosen and will make a bigger statement.

This sconce below is too small for a staircase area.

I guess what I'm suggesting is somewhat traditional in design, but with just a touch of modern edge. These fixtures are available in bronze, the big lantern in bronze with antique brass candles as an option.
