This is such a timeless, classic home! The least expensive way to update your front door is to paint it & change the door hardware. If you do want to replace it, I would suggest a stain or paint grade wood door with a light pattern to match the top sash of your windows. For example, you would need a half light front door with a 3 wide, 2 high light pattern. (Replacing just the door and not the sidelights.) If you are willing to replace the door & sidelights, you could go with full light door or 3/4 light door with grill pattern to match existing windows and full light side lights. Depending on the size, you could also pull out the sidelights and put in a double french, glass door. It would completely change the look of the house.

Other ideas: Paint the brick white & the shutters Navy or a light Beige! You could also leave the brick & paint the shutters (black). Update/clean up landscaping & pressure wash porch. Update wall sconces on either side of the door to something larger. They appear to be too small for the overall size of the home and off center.

The shutters have to go and some are missing anyway.As for a door go simpleblack door but before you even do that the whole front entry needs some work and also the bushes need to ripped out and a real portico over the entry.

It's a lovely classic home that needs some TLC. I have reduced the height of the hedge & replaced the missing shutters for you to see the appearance. Cream colored trim seems appropriate & the sage color for the door and shutters was a chic choice seen on English homes. You can see how your sage paint has faded over time. See below.

A fresh coat of paint goes a long way. I think painting the door black with black shutters with give the house a nice makeover.

i do but they were damaged by a storm so will have to order replacements.

I would look for a door with 3 glass panes across the top. That would mimic your windows and be a good fit.

If there are shutters on the other walls' matching-sized windows, you could do a bit of swapping around to put undamaged shutters on the front while the replacements are on order.

Agree with previous posts that the black and white options are very classic for this type of architecture. Another option to consider would be to add door glass to your existing door, and extend your sidelights to a full view. Besides the obvious shutters, IMO the biggest thing that is negatively impacting the curb appeal is the landing and steps outside the door. They are dirty and inexpensive looking. Spend some money ripping out the steps and add a larger more graceful curved brick or stone landing and steps, it will add tons of curb appeal.

What is the blue/grey material above your main floor windows and door? That may be a good color for the shutters, it would tie it together. The slate sidewalk and landing (in blue/grey)would look good with it.
