Hummingbird Feeders

Coastal northeast North Carolina here, just moved here and wondered when you guys normally put up your hummingbird feeders and what plants are good for attracting them. Had a hummingbird and butterfly garden that I left behind when I moved.

    My first hummingbird this year here in Upstate S.C. showed up March 20th. Took me by surprise. I was pulling weeds and went inside right away to hang up the feeder. Still not too many, maybe 3 at a time. Another thing catching me by surprise was a Monarch laying eggs Good Friday on my not even 1 inch tall milkweed. Plants are coming back slowly this year.
