Possibly, however I don't think it was. I don't have a chopstick or anything to test it with, but it has a large hole at the bottom so i just stuck my finger up there. The soil isn't bone dry but it isn't damp or wet. Its kind of in between. Do you think its root rot?

FYI, you can use a pencil to check for moisture. Pls. insert it as far down into the soil as it can reach & see if it comes out clean or w/ a bit of soil on it. If clean & dry it's OK to water, if looks dark or soil sticks to it, it's still moist, wait another day or 2 & check again.

But if you're able to check as you did from the bottom, that sounds OK (tho' might knock mix out the drainage hole). I'd wait another day or 2 to water, or to check it again.

Agreeing w/ Milkevsk above, browned leaf can be leaf's old age. You can remove it w/ a sharp, upward tug. Should come up easily, OR cut if off at the soil line.

Are you new to Sans? Do you see something ELSE suggesting root rot? Rest of the plant looks good from here.
