Indoor - outdoor SISAL :) Tight and flat if this is the kitchen. A real sisal if mostly an adult use. Beware all the cheap wool imports. They shed, develop annoying "tufts" needing to be clipped off.

Or look for a patterned great broadloom and have it custom cut and bound to the inches you want!

I would love your help!!! It may be unrealistic for a 9x12 size rug, but I'd love to stay under $600 if possible. What I loved about the sweater rug was that it wasn't JUST grays or JUST browns. It was a good mix of both. Taupe/Greige (sp?) I guess. My home is grays and browns. Grays with brownish undertones and browns with grayish undertones. I liked that it was neutral without being boring and without a large distinct pattern :) But just enough going on that it would hide stains and crumbs :)
