Replaced a screened-in porch with retractable screens

Extremely pleased with the way these screens turned out. We did an inside mount on every screen and were able to hide the wires completely!

Few things are better than a screened in porch. I think you found what is even better. Great!

It looks great. Can I ask where your flue on the fireplace is. It looks like a wood burning fireplace. We are wanting to put one in and we have a covered porch as well. Thx

@Tina Moore, unfortunately the fireplace was actually gas powered and no flue was needed.

What product is this? Are you happy with the choice? I'm looking at Brio screens for an exterior folding door - would love feedback on them.

@Amy Pearl, these are Rainier retractable solar screens. We professionally install these and other products around the Nashville area. Here is a link to their page, Rainier. We have utilized this product as a "doorway" however they do not sell an actual door. We utilize the entire screen box and tracks as the door.

So, these are horizontal, not vertical screens? And is there a reason you chose Rainier? Separate from the vertical door screens I need, I am considering solar screens for some windows with sun exposure.

We have been installing them for years, and we personally believe that Rainier has the best product on the market. We have carried more than 3 other competitors in the past and have not changed since we found Rainier. Combined with Somfy motor systems, these horizontally functioning screens can block the sun and so much more. They use a tight-woven fiberglass mesh for the material itself and the screen box/tracks are powder-coated aluminum. Let me know if there is anything else I may help you out with

Do these keep out pollen or snow?

Yes it will. When the screens are down it will keep out the pollen and snow.

Depending upon the thickness of the screen, rain will be able to slightly penetrate the screen. Typically about 2inches of lite spray.

What is the ballpark price for something like this? what screens do you advise that are non motorized? I have a lot of older clients who prefer manual instead of electrical.
