O’jennings did not live up to the terms of our agreement. Our home remodel took almost a full year longer than was initially agreed. Ojennings does not have a team of their own, but rather works as a labor broker (all work is subbed out to lowest bidder), so the quality of work depends on the subcontractor. Jamie took no responsibility for the work, and had me explain to the sub what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. Several elements of the project required extensive rework. Progress payments were front loaded (more money than work early on). Once a progress payment was made, Ojennings would literally disappear, not answer phone calls, etc. for months. In one three month period there 8 days of work on the project. Ojennings did not communicate effectively. We never knew what was going on, and he didn’t communicate with the subs. This was a source of rework- the ceiling was installed over the recessed lights, etc. The job site was always a mess. I spent every weekend (when they actually worked) picking up garbage and nails and hauling off to the dump. There were many upcharges, allocations for materials were often bud low, requiring change orders. I would NEVER work with this contractor again, and would NEVER recommend him to anyone. We did NOT pass final inspection and he walked away.

When we bought a property in Greene County we were not very familiar with the area and did not know any of the local builders, by name or reputation. So, we spoke with as many as we could to get some recommendations, and the consensus was that O'Jennings would be the choice of many. We did contract with Jamie Wayland for construction of our house and have never regretted our choice. In addition, over time, we have added some projects including a deck, basement kitchenette, and sewing room. O'Jennings provided quality materials and work each and every time. The O'Jennings crew and principal Jamie Wayland were terrific. Jamie clearly took into account our specifications when preparing the bid, provided his own thoughts and suggestions, firmly where necessary (and those were spot on), and the result was a complete residing (Hardie), painting, gutters, and few little extras. A big job, but the results a year later speak for themselves. The various crews - Siding, Gutters, Paint, Demolition, Carpentry, and clean up did a good job on all phases. We look forward to working with O'Jennings on several additional projects both inside and out over the coming years.

Top notch remodelers, and absolutely trustworthy. Not the least expensive, but the quality of the work justifies the cost. My only criticism is that which one might expect of an exceptional business- demand for his services can out pace his ability to accomplish all of the jobs he accepts in a timely fashion. I have found it to be worth the wait, as I hope to have things done once, and done Right. With O'Jennings, they will be. Eventually.
