A neighbor gave me an almost new set of king size sheets. I collect items to give to a public day care center that has a "give away table" for the parents. She proudly tells me "Don't worry I just washed them on very hot water." Well, the perfume smell was so overwhelming I almost handed them back to her. I immediately put them in the wash on very hot no detergent and started the machine. Well, I now have suds galore in my machine. I suspect these will take two full wash cycles with 4 rinses each time just to get rid of the built up detergent. I don't have any additives to assist in stripping out the detergent. I can't understand how people don't feel, see or smell the build up. I am not telling this neighbor what happened. It would hurt her feelings. Just needed to share.
