Oh, the crud on the leaves is pollen, everything in the neighborhood is covered in yellow pollen. Achooooo

Perhaps Polygala c. 'Grandiflora'? I haven't grown it.

That is it! Thank you so much - and now I can tell the gardener that her Daphne that we gave her is a Polygala! lol We will try to propagate some pieces but the first try was successful.

Michael bought it at one of the garden shows about 4-5 years ago. He thinks he bought it from Edelweiss Nursery. They seem to be the only one selling it now. What a shame because it is a really sweet plant. Hardy, non invasive and blooms reliably. Can't remember the name of the owner of the nursery, but he is really helpful and has many alpines that no one else carries.

That would be Urs. He's great - I used to buy from them for Emery's back in the day :-) He introduced a true red flowered schizostylus, 'Torero', that I have in my current garden........you know how I feel about 'pink' flowers!!

We sell the polygala at Valley........so someone else is growing it. And in larger sizes as well. I suspect Youngblood's but don't know for sure.
