I suggest the second option - SS with copper. Especially if you have stainless steel fixtures and appliances. However, I'd be sure to accent with other copper elements to tie in the look :) But I do prefer more SS overall.

Stainless steel with copper accents. Easier on resale. The all over copper looks to personal - not everyone will appreciate it when you go to sell (if you do). Good luck with your kitchen! Off to a great start!

Personally, I feel the accents don't really work well on this particular hood. It's too small for that. I'd preferably go either all stainless or all copper. If that's not an option, then stainless with copper accents would be my distant third choice.

If I did go with copper (either all copper or accents), I'd then make sure to pick up this theme in a few other places. The sink would be an obvious choice.

I agree with "M"...all stainless. it is easy to get caught up with all of the great selections out there. Allow your pretty cabinets with the stainless hood be the back drop for your kitchen. if it is the counter top that you are wanting to blend, choose some great copper accents like canisters, pots, bowls etc. Once you start actually living in your kitchen, you will appreciate the serenity that your cabinets and simple hood will contribute.

Thanks Everyone! I sincerely appreciate your feedback and opinions.

@beth, the tile hasn’t been installed yet but after a very long search with trying to work with blending the grey cabinets with the tan granite (which actually looks like the color salmon) I finally feel like we found the one that would work tie it all in. Attached here- taken from the Realstone Systems website. Also, the range I bought is the color slate.

is the slate color range the same as the SS hood? I'd hate for you to have two different tones. Does GE make a range hood in the slate color metal? another option is to do the hood in the same make up as the cabinets.

there are two reasons why I was thinking of a hood with some copper- 1. to add more warmth to my kitchen since everything is so gray, and 2. to tie in the 'tan' (which is essentially the color 'salmon') granite. But, I am not set on it. I love the tile, so I really want the tile to stand out. Therefore, SS would prob be the best option, huh?

do you have any plans on changing the granite down the road? if so, then just do the SS. and yes, doing it now would also be a better choice. bring in copper accents if you want to warm up the counter area.

My preference would be to match the stove; second place goes to a stainless steel hood that isn't covered in bumps. The style of the hood that you have pictured just doesn't tie into any other element in the room. It is different, which is nice sometimes, but I just don't think it will work in this kitchen. The counter is busy enough alone, and the hood will be going into a small space. Simpler is better here IMO.

I love your other selections, BTW

The copper is a nice pop of warmth and ties in the warm tones of your granite! The stainless hood with copper trim/accents will add cohesion to your space. In addition, the copper trim will provided a nice contrast against the gray backsplash and gray cabinets.

Best of luck with your project!
