You can get LED in a variety of kelvins for a warmer to quite bright light. You can get them on a dimmer and can toggle between different degrees of warm light. Halogens get hot quickly. I suggest that you not use the tape type strips because they create little dots on a shiny surface. A diffuser on your under cabinet lights will prevent that. You can get a huge variety of lengths and ways to configure for wired. Using LED means real energy $ savings and long long life of the bulbs as well as cool lighting on your food/work top.
