I think I would wait until you are in and have arranged all the rest maybe a simple line drawing to give some releif from all the rest and it is time to add some color so think about that .I love blk and wht but you need some rest form it IMO. BTW I do not like that coffee table base with those stools , be careful you do not get too much going on in the space.As for white for the walls that is always a problem when doing a new build , try Decorators white from BM and NO MORE ZEBRA anything.When adding the color please no red.

Zebra picture with zebra rug????? Be a bit more daring.

The 2 chairs with the palm leaves are staying in the room with white sofa. They are velvet and I just spent a fortune recovering them. The 2 with dragons can go in another room. I love the palm leaves, will not buy the painting. I love the painting that beverly posted will try to find that and I don't own the zebra rug yet so can have other options.

It used to be from West Elm, but there are many companies that could supply close to the same image including Etsy, or frankly you could just purchase a stretched canvas & copy it for cheap.

Those palm chairs are awesome. Let them be the stars of the room.

1. Palm chairs are fantastic. I agree they need to be the stars of the room.

2. Consider paint with an ever so *slight* grey so the black and white chairs pop.

3. Coffee table with a touch of gold or wood so there is some element of texture or light bouncing in this room so it isn't all flat black and white.

4. Nope the zerbas pictures do not go. I agree that you need a non-zebra rug.

Kendrah I love the Black Journey

I hope I am not getting to much black and white (I love it) as I am planning on painting my 10' interior doors gloss black as well as my tray ceilings in living and dining, ceilings are 14' with a double tray to 16'. Now I am second guessing myself. My windows are black too as well as roof.

Your success with your chosen scheme will depend on the restraint employed. Restraint with black, abundance of white. Most all two color schemes look best in proportions far away from a 50/50 use of each. Textures and tones are the necessary additions. Jmho.

You've gone overboard with the b/w but maybe you have that type of personality. If you do, then I say ...go for it!

I will have to get in and play I guess. So many decisions and I have to work with things I have. My couches will be new one white leather for living room and maybe in family room I will go with turquoise leather as that will be my accents in kitchen and family that are open.

No black ceilings for sure and be careful with full on turquoise it can look very juvenile when overdone. I would wait to decide that accent color it can be added anytime .I would stick with the white leather or a very soft gray then add the color with things that are easy to change.

No black ceiling, please. Your chairs look amazing! With doors and windows you have enough black for room. Don't buy art before everything done as you need to see it in space with lighting. And for sure no more zebras :))). I would add color with art as it looks the best with black and white interior. Also get some medium wood furniture (not black) to add warmth to your rooms. This is my version of monochromatic room with bright art.

Do a Houzz search for black and white living rooms. You'll notice that most black and white living rooms are not only black and white but well balanced out with silver, grey, tans, browns so as to not look too stark.

I fear your home is starting to sound a bit Miami Vice. The fabric on your chairs is so classy but some of your other choices sound less so. I would be sure that your black and white and white and turquoise leather choices are surrounded by lots of wood tones, greys, textures so as not to look too forced or austere. As others have said, keep the black in check.

Is it in your budget to hire a decorator?

I did hire a decorator and told her my ideas and she seemed fine with them, I do have wood in tables, etc

Wood in smaller amounts will 'show' more than usual you're saying... and warm it up...
