My husband installed Alu-Rex gutter guards, but we have maple trees surrounding our house, not pines. The leaves sit on top of them until the next wind blows them off. There is one corner spot that needs to be manually cleaned only because of an overlapping higher roof area and the wind can’t always blow off what is on top. But that is only once a year in that one spot. There is very fine debris, I know because I have a rain barrel system and the first flush barrel collects some sludge in the bottom.
