Moen makes good faucets in general, though there have been some designs of pull out faucets that broke repeatedly. The cartridges are fairly easy to replace.

Call Moen. They will send you replacement parts, depending on what the issue is.

We are in the process of remodeling, and we already decided we will get another one once we change the sink and counter tops so I don't think it's worth fixing it.

I found a lot of good information on this builder's site, and it's non-commercial (they don't sell faucets, or sell faucet ads). Personally, I'm a big Hansgrohe fan (not Grohe), and I use Hansgrohe faucets in my kitchen, bathroom, and shower.

any advice on the finish? I don't think I want gold or black, but there is also chrome, nickel, arctic stainless, spot resist stainless...

that's the issue, our kitchen is going to be remodeled. And we are not 100% sure what are we going to do except keep the cabinets and have ss sink and appliances...

You need a KD. NOW. There are 9317 choices for everything except cabinets. Those have @+1 choices. You need to have the entire vision figured out before you choose anything. Everything you choose needs to work together. If you pick higgeldy piggeldy it will show.

I'm picking faucets too, and in the middle of a kitchen remodel. I'm factoring in everything from kitchen knobs (as the knobs are at eye level similar to the faucets). I'm making sure the faucets, and knobs will go well together. So far I have found that All the spot resisting faucets have that yellowish tone to them, which is nice, but not what I'm looking for. I'm also looking at a faucet that has the magnet when you pull down. So far I found that Delta and Kohler have it. Decisions, decisions...

It seems like it varies with the particular faucet that you choose. I've had to return 2 Kohler faucets for persistent leaks right out of the box, but one Kohler kitchen faucet has lasted for 10 years without issue. I've had good luck with all my Delta faucets and their customer service has been excellent. Price Pfister just sent me new cartridges for bath/shower faucets without a squawk.

There are many great brands out there to choose from but when designing a kitchen for my clients, I tend to favour Grohe, Hansgrohe, Brizo or Newport Brass.

I have a Kohler and Hansgrohe in my home kitchen and will be using a Delta Trinsic model in our cottage remodel. All have good reviews and I haven't had any issues with my home faucets. Be sure to buy from a plumbing or kitchen store and not a big box store as the name of the model may be the same but the inner parts may be different. Check model numbers to be sure, don't go by the name. Any model # deviation and they are not the same faucet.

I install a lot of faucets, and although the other main brands are fine, the Delta's continue to impress me.

I'm with Joseph Corlett, LLC on this one. Moen makes excellent faucets. Delta makes slightly better faucets. Which is probably why our panel of consumers and industry professionals selected Delta over Moen as one of the Best Value Faucets for 2017.

Here are their reasons:

One ceramic disc is impregnated with diamond powder that constantly scrubs the other disk making sure the two discs are always perfectly meshed and cannot leak. 2. Masco, Delt's parent company, owns its own PVD company that helped pioneer physical vapor deposition finishing back in the day. All Delta faucets are now finished using the PVD process which results in a finish that is 20 times harder than chrome and very scratch-resistant.
3. Delta has some of the best warranty and customer service in the faucet world. Not as good as Moen, but very good nonetheless.
