I would put a curtain to cover the entire wall behind the bed. The two small windows look like silly black holes in the wall

One consideration is that a dresser is taller than a nightstand, by several inches. That means that a lamp height could be a problem if it's too tall to turn off if you normally read in bed. I'd change out the brown blinds for ones same color as the wall so they are not so obvious. Maybe you don't need anything there at all?

Hi, I would highly recommend adding some stationary drapery behind the bed if your budget allows. Those windows look awkward and need some assistance. If there is no room in the budget for stationary drapery, then perhaps you can change out the blinds to match the trim and not stand out so much. You can coordinate your colors on the comforter with decorative fabric, pillows and possibly a lamp base. Just be cautious not to overdo it. A silver metallic lamp base may look nice with the blue.

I know you just finished painting but have you ever thought about doing this wall as an accent or adding flat panel trims around the windows with a little wainscoting underneath to make your windows look larger.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the input. I can see how the windows look odd with the wall bare. I think on e the dresser s and lamps are in pa e it will look better, plus we will likely hang small art above the dresser like we had before. We like the windows as they allow for a great amount of cross breezes through the room.

Deco, I’ve seen that image before but I’m not sure how to determine what lamp size should be. I guess more specifically how far from the top of the mattress would people recommend the bottom of the shade be?

Also so I found this lamp at lamps plus and it comes in a lot of color And is a good price. Would this shape work in a bedroom? It’s 28” tall.

Thanks Claire. Our house is a 50s war box so paneling doesn’t seem to fit it’s style. And despite the bed style we tend to lean more contemporary, modern and mid century.

I thought this fit the mid-century vibe of the dressers.

Replace your blinds with white wood ones to blend in with wall.

Will your bed have a bedskirt or will the coverlet go all the way to the floor or will it be hanging the same all around the bed; neaten up the making of the bed and add a stack of two pillows on each side of the bed or a set of one matched pillows on the bed so they are the same height.

Love your dressers.....Lowe's has a cool glass vessel type lamp base in aqua that looks sleek that you might consider for the bedside lamps.....

Here is a lamp idea. I put in a similar side table so I could see what the lamp looked like it he space. I am not sure what you had for wall decor but I put another option for you there. Adding some nice throw pillows on even a throw blanket will really finish off the space. I hope this helps!

I like the lamps suggestions too but I was thinking some other color besides blue, is that a bad idea? It seems like a lot of suggestions are to pick a lamp similar to the bed cover color. I have a piece of art I think will look great above the bed but not sure until we pull all our art and make a master plan for the space.

No bedskirt for us it’s too much. When I make the bed I usually tuck the comforter into the side rail so it looks a bit more tailored. I need new sheets to coordinate better and possible some pillows though my husband isn’t fan of taking them on and off. Any suggestions there as well?

Yes, white blinds would look a lot better with the wall color as the windows would then disappear on the wall instead of standing out.
