Your kitchen looks lovely. Your cabinets are gorgeous and the white Corian looks fresh and crisp to me.

For the backsplash, maybe Calacata would be nice since it has warmer tones than Carrara and would tie the wood to the white in the counter.

And perhaps a nice wooden, footed fruit bowl for the island:

I actually love the countertops! A nice backsplash will make a huge difference in connecting the cabinets and countertop. Glass subway tile with contrasting grout would be lovely. Marble would be beautiful too. Also, a long runner would look great in there. It would help break up the darkness with the floor/cabinets a little bit.

you're fine..it's the huge window. Can you get a custom roman shade....some patterned fabric-color! That, and distinctive cup pulls on your stack of drawers.

I think a colorful Roman shade above the sink would help immensely. I also second the other comments about a backsplash - it would give it some texture. I like your counter tops...it just needs some color in there!

The first thing I noticed was the window. Get a nice roman shade, as suggested, that makes a lively statement. You can even paint the walls to coordinate. Some undercabinet lights and you'll be cookin' pretty

Roman shades come in all sorts of fabrics. There is no right answer. Mine is a floral because I love florals:) If you have some favorite colors, bring that into the fabric.

Maybe something with a little red - thinking you like red because of the red dish drainer.

Better lighting is all you need to be up your kitchen. The counter is very nice as it is.

You have a 4" solid surface splash. You either do a short splash or all tile, not a combination. But you don't need tile to add interest because the large window will do that.

Removing the window arch would help update the cabinets and be better for showing off the new Roman shade. Is the window nice enough to be unveiled and highlighted? Can you add two or three wall pendants like jhmarie's first photo?

I think what is bothering me in the photo (if anything - i actually think it looks pretty nice) is the paint color. The blue is making the white more harsh - which is what's making it look not quite right with the warm cabinets. I'd do maybe a cream or the same color as the counter, and let the counter and cabs and window be the stars.

Even if you change the counters, you will need a new backsplash and as others have seen me talk about here before.. under cabinet lighting.
