coordinating brush nickel finish (Hansgrohe with Moen)?

I am doing a bathroom remodel. Does the brushed nickel finish of Kohler products really look a lot different than the brushed nickel finish of Hansgrohe products? I would like to pair a Hansgrohe shower head with a Moen trim kit.

I found that not all brushed nickle is the same. There are a wide range of color variations in brushed nickle but I felt this was very similar to the moen wynford brushed nickle. I'm very happy with both.

I tend to do a lot of research before making even small purchases. Makes me a bit crazy but I learn a lot. I called both Hansgrohe and Moen about water spots. Both had great things to say about water spot resistance but Hansgrohe took the extra step to recommend a wax for the shower head. If you live in an area that has really hard water you might call them to see what they share with you. I live in Kansas and our water isn't particularly hard but water staining is still a concern to me and Flitz was suggested:

I haven't found much problem in combining nickel finishes from different companies.

Thanks for your advice. I was at Ferguson yesterday. The salesperson there told me that the brushed nickel finish might not match if I bought bathroom fixtures from different vendors.

I purchased a Hansgrohe shower head with the Moen Wynford line. When you hold the Hansgrohe up in the air you don't see the finish the same way you do the rest of the shower pieces. I'd go back to the store and simulate that. Depending on your Ferguson's sales person they may not want to risk telling you it will match. Just a thought. Good luck! =)

Tam, which Hansgrohe shower head did you buy? Did you buy brushed nickel by any chance? If so, did you have any problem with water spot stains? I see that Moen has a line of spot resistant brushed nickel. I am not sure if I need that.

For the most part, brushed nickel is always the same regardless of manufacturer. If it were a polished nickel or stainless I would suggest visiting the showroom.

I went back to Ferguson today. I compared the Moen Wynford faucet against a Hansgrohe shower head in brushed nickel. They look almost the same.

I will have to mix and match because I don't like the Hansgrohe shower trim (it looks too contemporary). I saw that Moen now has a spot resist brushed nickel. I am thinking of getting a Moen trim kit

and putting a fixed Hansgrohe showerhead on the shower arm on top. I am not sure it is going to look ok having all of this stuff on the short side of the tub that is being converted into a frameless shower.

It is 2025. These posts are old and currently moen and grohe are the only similar brushed nickel finishes. We combined them in our shower so we could get a nicer shower head from Grohe. Other than that, in working with the bathroom fixtures, none of the other manufacturers are similar enough to mix.
