I have a door (36"x72") we picked up at Loews sitting on top of two sawhorses, probably a little more costs than than the two tables, but not by much...works great!

In the basement demo, we had four doors replaced. I suggested keeping two of them to use for a table. My DH is not Mr. Handy Guy ( although he thinks he is) and when I worked out what we would have to do to support the doors, this was a much easier solution for me. I did consider it long and hard though.

Theresa, I find I can't move the larger awkward things (even if light weight) around like I used to, so have to do what works for me. I'm glad you found something to keep you off the floor. Knees........ouch. Back........ouch.

First use of the tables. My knees and back said" thank you".

My knees are shouting at me, too, after six weeks of crawling, scooting, kneeling, etc. working on laying floors and baseboards! I keep telling DH we aren't 20 years old any more.

Donna, if you're not finished with crawling around on the floor, I have some advice. Put some kind of cushioning under your knees. (Folded cardboard works well. If you use two pieces about as wide as your knees when you're on them and about 6" deep, you can move one ahead without getting up to reposition them - if that makes any sense.) It will help with your knees, but won't help you get up and down, unfortunately.

Thanks, Bkay. I have knee pads that help a lot. Being on the floor isn't really the problem, it's the getting up and down! LOL
