bathroom design help!

We are remodeling our master bath.

1.)My husband wants Crema Marfil style marble and I want Carrara. I am fine with the Crema Marfil if I can paint my walls blue. Would that ever look good? I attached a photo of my husband and my favorite bathroom looks.

2.) Is Carrara marble going to look dated in 10 years? I know it’s a natural stone that has been used for centuries but people also said that about travertine til it was done to death.

3.) And lastly, real marble or quartz and porcelain lookalikes? Love the look of real marble but is it worth the additional cost and concerned about staining.

Go with quartz. So many nice ones out there now that look like marble. We remodeled our master 1.5 years ago and used Cambria Swanbridge and I love it. So easy to maintain and keep clean. The lighting is bad in picture but our walls are blue. As for looking dated in 10 years....I hope not :-)

By the way - our house is right in between where upgraded materials like real marble are a nice option and wouldn’t be out of place but are not expected.

I also know that we should just go with what we love but I tend to love what’s in style lol.

So Crema Marfil is a warmer marble, it might work with blue but you'll have to take the time to pick the right one. Personally, I like the veins in the Carrara better. However, in a bathroom, I don't like to use marble. There are just too many products that can stain it, especially if it's in the shower area. Quartz is easier to maintain, but if you are okay living with the imperfections that marble will get then go for it!

(If you plan on not using real marble for the flooring and shower tiles though, it might be challenging to mix marble, quartz, and porcelain. They can often look cheap and fake when against the real thing so keep that in mind)

You might be able to get a blue to work with Crema Marfil, but you would have to pick the right one. We think though that quartz works better because it is easier to maintain and less likely to stain.

I like the first shower, its timeless and classic. The 2nd one is just a bit too busy for me, especially to walk into every morning.
