1. thats what a swiffer is for. 2. i'd take the occasional dusty/dirty over carpeting with mashed paths from the door to the bathroom or closets, anydayoftheweek.

Totally prefer it to carpet. Hardwood or tile and a bedside rug are the way to go.

Carpet gets mashed paths around the bed, and the amount of dust and dirt that builds up in carpet is astounding. They are never truly clean.

Yes, the dust-bunny population under the bed is also astonishing, but the vacuum removes them in seconds.

For a master, hardwood is nice upgrade. It also tends to elevate a bedroom design, but carpet won't look out of place in a bedroom so either works.

You don't think dust settles on carpet? It does, and you don't see it. But you do an awful lot of walking in your master with bare feet, grnd dust in with foot oils The rip out when you realize it looks like hell in two years? No thanks !! . Do the hardwood, find a lovely large patterned area rug. In a couple short years, you will thank yourself, and enjoy a higher end look in the meantime. Use the swiffer......: )
