We have the EVIL yellow flies here right now. I have bites all over my ankles from them. Gawd they hurt!

Those no see ums set my ankles on fire! I can't walk on the ground for more than a minute before they attack me. They don't get on hubs though. I spray "off" on my ankles and it works great but I keep wondering if I'm slowly poisonong myself.

I think I'll try the aspirin trick.

I put a mixture of castor oil, coconut oil (50/50) and a few drops of tea tree oil on my ankles if I have to go out when they're around. I think they don't like the smell of the tea tree oil, because they don't bite as much, but when they do, it doesn't itch and heals quickly. I use the castor oil/coconut oil on my skin at night, and it must be working, because my maintenance man was amazed when I said I was 66. He's 59 and he thought I was younger than him.

I like using natural things. The aspirin sounds really good, and it makes sense that it works, since it's an anti-inflammatory.

I use Nivea cream a lot on my skin. And I discovered that it does a good job killing the itching and feeling that my ankles are on fire AFTER they bite me which is almost as soon as I step on the ground. Tomorrow I'll spread a ring of Nivea around my ankles before I step outside instead of spraying "Off". Will let you know if it works.
