What type of Glass Panel decking is this called?

We are considering this for our home, and would like to know what to call this when there is no top rail / railing or posts -- only glass panels held by a thick base like this. Thanks

    Dear Charlie,

This is a windscreen; a glass guardrail is typically 42" in height, whereas a windscreen can be taller.

Please let me know if you'd like a free onsite measure & consultation.

Thanks for your interest in our products and services.

Tom, is this style called channel set glass fence? It’s beautiful & a perfectly unobstructed view.

Since this is an old post, you have probably finished the windscreen. I hope you made sure that your glass panels are strongly supported and thick enough that they won’t break if a person falls against a section of glass. Show us the finished deck area and tell us about your experience.

    Hi Kathy,

This is/was what we call a "base shoe" installation. We were able to omit the top cap because tempered laminated glass was used.

    Hi Felizlady,

Yes, we are required to use glass that meets the applicable code for strength.

    Thanks All,

    Tom
