It almost makes the blood pool in your feet when that thought enters your mind. lol No destruction here, either........crossing everything that can be crossed!

The only incident I've had is when I gave a top to a friend to sandwich and quilt for Africa. When I received the finished quilt and was looking it over, I felt a pin inside. I made a slit, removed the pin and zigzaged the cut. You couldn't even find the spot when I was done.

When trimming the sandwiched quilt, I am always very careful because I am aware how easy it would be to cut into the quilt. Horrors!

I have a couple of times trimmed the binding off when trimming at the corners. It can happen, now am very careful.

Rita, I just read through the entire old post...LOL...,what a great story and exchange. ..Thanks for sharing, thanks for the laughs. BTW: This confirmed that I have no desire to retire in Florida, visiting is just fine!

I did a quilt some years ago with appliqued figures on it for a child. While trimming extra fabric off the back of one of the figures, I cut into the middle. That figure then gained a cute belly button appliqued on it's tummy.

So far, I've not had any real disasters (fingers crossed). Mine are mostly miscalculations that I have to figure a work around. An example is that I decided to increase the size of a wall hanging to a throw. Now, I don't have enough backing for it and can't get anymore. Can you say, "pieced back"?

Palmetto Blues is a great story. We have those bugs here too. We call them "water bugs".
