Asian Arcadia is finally finished!!

I pieced this quilt in 2014. I couldn't decide how I wanted to quilt it, plus my FMQ skills are very limited. I finally decided on a Baptist fan pattern that I could do on my sit-down Tiara with a Westalee ruler, so I ordered the ruler. I started to quilt it last summer. Then came two knee replacements, a winter in Hawaii and now, shingles. However, I finally finished this puppy last night and here it is. My husband has six wonderful sisters, and I have decided to give each of them a quilt. One of them is coming over for dinner tonight. She had seen this quilt top and absolutely loved it, so tonight it will be hers. I can't wait to see her reaction.

Some of them are hard to give up. This one would be hard for me to gift, even to a great sister-in-law.

Very nice, Lois! I love the quilting. How did you like the Westalee ruler? I've seen them demo-ed at quilt shows and wondered if they are as wonderful as they seem.

Theresa, she was thrilled. I know it will be treasured.

Donna, the ruler worked welll, but it was still very tedious. I was very glad that I had glue-basted the quilt, because there was a lot a handling. I made sure to keep the area I was working on very flat. I never had a pucker on the backing, and the quilt remained absolutely rectangular. I had been a little concerned about that.

Love the quilting, although I doubt that I would ever try it on my regular domestic machine.
