My husband and I just purchased a home from an elderly couple who liked to plant and garden. It's a small back yard and love all the greenery but its not our taste not to mention way too much shade and too many Mosquitos. There are about 10 trees including roses bushes and many other plants. To our left, there's our neighbors wood fence and "our" lovely chain fence beside that. Directly behind us, there's a small brick wall the neighbor has put up and that is visible to us which is fine. Currently, there are tons of different plants that overtake that area near the wall about 8-10 feet from the wall. To me it seems a waste of yard space since its such a small yard to begin with. I envision a black iron fence to go near the brick with 6-8' skinny but full tall shrubs for privacy. Eventually we will do away with the chain link fence and put up wood/vinyl fencing. Just need some ideas as I am overwhelmed in a jungle! We will probably get rid of at least half of the trees also. I have some pics hope you can see what I mean. Would also like to build a brick patio to the left corner with fireplace and we have hammock wood stands we would like to build we would like to add to the right corner with maybe a small fountain...too much? Please help!
