I'm tired of it too. I want something colorful like the retro line appliances or just plain white with artisan tile counter for color. I don't think kitchens have gotten better.

I'm over it too. I just stick with white.

Unfortunately, if you don't want stainless steel, there are certain appliances that are off the table because some well-featured appliances of each type only come in stainless, and the jump up to panel ready or colored appliances is significant.

I am not sure that appliances matching is such a big deal, for years the only stainless refrigerators were commercial or SubZero and Northland.

We had a stainless cooktop and range hood in the 1960s with other appliances in white. Many people do colored ranges with other finishes for the other appliances.

My cooktop and wall oven are (going to be) restored copper appliances from about 1960. (the tops are stainless). Since there is no copper refrigerator or DW on the market I have a choice of stainless or paneled.

But unfortunately that wipes out any DW or Fridge at the middle of the market.

new things come along and go (harvest gold, avocado) and some come along and stay (black, white, stainless steel).

what i like about white: goes with white cabinets.

what i like about stainless: goes with any color cabinets

what i like about black: nothing.

when it comes to kitchens, i'm firstly all about features. so in my mostly white kitchen i have a mixture of stainless (bosch dishwasher with 'speed perfect' setting only comes in stainless, ditto thermador cooktop) and white (i love a white fridge, and my white wall oven doesnt visually break up a small area of white cabinets.
