This new forum layout is awful

This is not user friendly or intuitive. And what makes it even worse, is you can't even manage to put the forums in alphabetical order? The old GW was intuitive and easy to use.

And what does needlepoint have to do with house discussions?

There's an old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I

It seems you guys at houzz are more interested in the almighty dollar and becoming the next overstock.com than in being what was great forums for learning and helping improve both for gardening and house issues.

However now that I can post this in every forum, I will! Too bad there's no longer a way to contact you and let you know how awful this new format is. I'm betting lots of folks in each forum will be agreeing with me.

This new houzz forum is awful
This new houzz forum is great.

    I agree!

Me, too. The jumble of topics, plus I have to go thru the entire (non-alphabetical) list of garden topics to get to the home forums. EVERY FREAKIN' Time.

O.M.G what a hot mess! No logical sense at all.

Hi there, There is a topic here for feedback on the design updates, if you would like to share your thoughts! https://www.houzz.com/discussions/using-houzz-dsbr0-bd~t_28565

I'm glad it's not just me. I had a hard time finding this forum in a google search. When did Houzz make the change? I haven't been here in awhile. If this is the way it is going to be, I probably won't come back. I can't find anything.

    Hate it!

Emily which thread is it? Why not give the direct link?

    Hate it.

If everyone used their finger to click the little symbol in the upper right to indicate the Miscategorized multi category posts, they’d get an idea of how widespread and disruptive that has been. Volunteer some time, and Pick 5 forums at the middle or bottom bottom of the list and go through them. Try to pick a few obscure ones. The only way they know the depth of the issue is if they have to deal with the issue as we have had to deal with it.

One topic=one category! Design Dilemma posts should be in the individual GW forums. GW should swallow Houzz. Not the other way around!

If everyone who has an tech issue with the GW integration would post in the Using Houzz Forum with a new post stating their problem, and then post in this thread to keep the thread numbers growing, they might realize how widespread the issues are.

Post on their Facebook page too. They won’t be able to keep up with the numbers of complaints. They don’t have enough people.

    Numbers rule.

Unfortunately Sophie, general comments are not available on their Facebook page - only comments on on posts they made promoting something that links back here. They are stupid in many ways but they know enough not to offer that comment opportunity to the public.

One shouldn't be able to post to multiple forums at one time. Do a little research and figure out the best place for your question or comment. One forum at a time.

FYI, this delightful (ahem) new forum will not allow me to vote in your poll.

So what's that, like number 957 for known technical glitches of this delightful (ahem) new forum?

    Yeah, I'm not a fan. :(

And Sophie - I tried to comment on their Facebook page. No way to leave a new comment.

Just pick their latest FB post, and post ad a comment under it. There’s already been a couple of disgruntled folks commenting under the posts. An avalanche is what it needs to be.

    REALLY don't like it either.

I think part of the reason old threads pop up so often is because the related discussions on the side bar are old and people don't look at the date. I thought people were just googling issues and turning up old posts but I imagine that's not the only thing.

I was looking last night and clicked on a couple that looked like good posts only to realize they were 2012.

I guess that I am done with Houzz. It used to be a fun forum. Now it is marketing bs.

Yet to see a positive comment on the "new" system. Hmmmm, wonder why?

48 votes saying the new forum is bad. 0 votes saying it's good.

And yet all Emily does is post chirpy little responses about very specific bugs....all the while ignoring the most overwhelming negative reaction to any new "upgrade" I've ever seen in all my years on internet forums.

I spent some time today poking around on the various active forums. Every single one has multiple threads going about how bad this is. It's mass confusion and so many people are so upset.

Meanwhile, their delightful feature that allows people to post in multiple forums is allowing people to spam multiple forums with inappropriate stuff so much easier now. So yay for that! (Good lord....) Nothing like seeing people posting stuff in what used to be our beloved GW forums that really needs to go to HOUZZ customer service. Except of course good luck trying to FIND HOUZZ customer service, so their poor customers just throw a dart at something and hope it lands where it needs to.

    I'm so sad. :(

    What an awful mess....

Couldn't agree more! WTH happened? If it ain't broke, and all that. This is REALLY frustrating of you, Houzz.

I'm one of the old GW users from when Spike had it. I used to have to pay to be a member. I understand that changes need to be made over a period of time but they need to be changes that will keep your users happy. This is not one of those changes, Houzz. This is complete and frustrating madness.

I'll be building a house soon...I thought I could use Houzz and GW to keep orders, information, and advice together. I guess I'll have to find another way to do that because this is not the way I want to purchase or interact. So so frustrating!

I am so frustrated!! I'm remodeling 3 bathrooms starting in August. I have some questions to ask, but the horrible "update" has me procrastinating my posts bc I don't want to deal with the frustration!

cpartist - if you check back here, can you post a link of you completed home reveal on new builds? I missed it and I don't think it's still on one of the first few pages,is it? I took a look a few days back and didn't see it. I did get involved in reading another thread on there posted by you a bit back... but then I got tired and I scanned p 1 yesterday... but I think it's gonna be back aways.. thx

I think things are better. It is unfortunate they went LIVE before all the updating was done. Things are alphabetized now at least!!

i am very disappointed with the new format, it feels very disjointed, it is not easy to use, very unorganized. There is not one feature in the new format that makes it a better product for me as a user.

I don't like design dilemma mixed in with kitchen and/or bathroom topics. Design needs to stand alone.
