Need to add coarse sand. Perlite could cause issues if by itself. You could add pumice, but those tend to be too coarse.

Fine sand, yes. Saltwater sand too. Use a flour sifter if you cant find decent size.

Basically, anything chia seed or larger will work. Just as long its not too coarse.

Ohh okay well I’ve already planted them in that mix in the picture so will that be okay for a few months? Then I can re-pot them again in something different with something more course mixed in

It should be okay as long as there is drainage hole. Just allow it to dry between waterings.

I do avoid sand of any complexion - my well-draining mix is 50% coarse grit.

What’s in the picture is just a mix of C&S soil and perlite so in a few months I will re pot again and add some type of grit any good suggestions

Some ppl grow in the mix you have and report success. Just monitor mix for wetness; best using bamboo skewer or chopstick. In few mo, you should have good idea if it is working or not (the mix).
