Bidens Wilting, Dying

I planted two medium/large containers and included bidens for trailing and colour contrast. Up until today all plants were doing well. But when I checked them today, one bidens had suddenly wilted and dried out. I've never had a problem with bidens before. Does anyone have suggestions as to cause?


Also, when one plant is diseased or infested with a pest does that mean that the whole container will be hit also, even though the sick plant has been removed? I've never had any plants in a container develop problems so I'm worried that I'll lose the whole container which is gorgeous and healthy except for this one bidens. Thanks for any suggestions.
