Dimensions? - Turning Study into Dining Room?

We're considering turning a Study (11'3" x 8'6") into a Dining Room (daily and "formal"). We realize it's better sized for a breakfast nook, but have no need for two dedicated eating areas, so want it to serve as our daily (and, occasionally, formal) single dining room. The lower wall would be removed (or largely removed), and a slider to the deck added to the right-hand wall.

Daily seating would be a table for 6 (with only 4 diners, typically), with very rare occasions extended to 8. It seems a rectangular table dimension of 76" Long (unextended; 94" extended) and 40" wide is common. With 36" min all around, I'm getting 12'-4" minimum length (76+36+36; but 13'-10"(!) if extended), and 9'-4" Minimum width/depth (40+36+36). In other words, we'd need to expand by at least 10" in the vertical dimension below, and 1'-1" in the horizontal.

Do you'all think 12' x 11' would work? Are there other configurations I am not thinking of with less changes required? Any guidance is suggested. Thanks
