Personally I think it's a waste to put it in a home. it's excessive and trying to fix a problem that isn't there. It might be worth while in a building that has thousands of lights and you want to program scenes, rooms, custom configurations, etc, and want the ability to manage it remotely.

For the home, your lighting options are severely limited. What happens if the technology dies in a few years? You then get to rewire your entire house. Ick. What happens if you lose power at the controller, the controller gets corrupted, get a virus, or get hacked at your controller and can't control the lights in your house? It being a new technology, your options for support have to be limited, and expensive.

I would stick to the more prevalent home automation systems that ride on z-wave or zigbee and allow you to use most any current lighting option you can find. I happen to have and use Smartthings which works great for my needs, but I'm sure there are more light-centric options available on the market.

PoE lighting is a ridiculous application.
