Do you ever open your windows... Have you considered swapping out the fixed front picture windows for a couple of pair of windows that will open -- perhaps enlarging the openings and centering the window pairs in the wood siding.

If you like the tree that is close to your right front window but not where it is located, then, instead of chopping it down and killing, consider trying to move it to the right front yard -- approximately centered in that space.

Budget and building code permitting, you might consider a taller privacy fence all across the back property line of the lot and the same fencing to a point at least even with the front exterior of the house -- better yet, all the way to the road, perhaps even creating a corner on the right side (but not blocking a view of the house from directly in front of it).

You could then create a "green" fence on the right front side of the lot parallel to the road for privacy and create a front/side yard patio on the right side of your porch.

I would stain the brick to achieve an even color. Here's what one Houzzer did.

The brick & mortar is a problem. It looks like the brick on the porch was rebuilt using a different color mortar. You might consider painting the light mortar to match the dark mortar. I'd avoid staining the brick (if this is a DYI job) since you'll be painting each brick all the meanwhile avoiding the mortar. Think time consuming and tedious as well !

If you live in a mild climate, you could consider painting the brick. If you have lots of hard-hitting weather hitting the brick, then you really don't want to paint it, since you'll go from care-free brick to painting-forever brick.

This is a house similar to yours and was with Dunn-Edwards paint (Craftsman colors). I'm assuming the body of the house is done with DE6263 Pistachio Shell. To get the same look, you could add additional flowering foundation plantings.

Yes, staining the brick to bring it back to its original color is a good idea. I wouldn't paint it though-it flattens it out and takes away its personality, not to mention it creates a maintenance issue.

I agree with the comments so far - move the tree on the right; transplant it somewhere else. Dark paint on trim of windows to stand out. Love the color of the craftsman; may even look nice on top half over the brick. I think those flowers you have out in the front yard would be cute along the front of the home (the lavender, the whispy, cottage-like flowers. It's be a nice juxtiposition.

Lovely home. I would recommend to paint the the exterior of the home above the brick and also the roof trim. It will make your home look different and stand out. A large over-sized hanging basket with plants and flowers will give it an element of warmth.

Remove the tree, whitewash or otherwise paint the brick. Or you could remove the brick front wall of the porch (it looks "heavy") and put in an open railing. Kinda like this?

You have a lot of brick. It isn't just on a few columns. I vote to not paint the brick as you will give up a maintenance free section of your house. I would paint the house instead.
