I am pretty much in agreement with grapefruit-- you have a beautiful more than start. My first reaction is that you have beautiful floors, the sectional looks awesome as does your table. But yes, quite neutral and calm. My gut reaction get a rug, and that will be a gamechanger. I would probably also add some panels to the window but maybe not. I think once you have a rug and hang some things on the walls it will look so much more complete. ( probably a few more pillows but the ones you have are nice !)

Hi there, I agree with both comments above. Something that you can try to do if you're undecisive is to find 1 thing (it can be art, or a rug, or curtains) that you love and has colors that draw you, and decorate the rest of the room around it :) For instance, think: one color for most of the room (say 60%) through your big items, then an accent color (say 30%), and the remaining 10% for touches of something a little more bold.

You really have a nice start with what you have. Just and a rug, some framed art work, maybe some panels. Would definitely add more colorful pillows to the sectional and a floor lamp for additional lighting during the evening.

The dining table is nice it just need to be appropriately decorated to flow with the other space. What type of chairs do you have for the dining table?

If this is the only space for family time or tv watching, then you can maybe put it in the far left corner and at an angle so all can view what is being watched. If you want it to be like the surrounding sitting space, I suggest disguising it within an armoire.

A nice piece of art work would look lovely above the fireplace. And some greenery would really help the space feel lived in.

Thanks everyone. I’m having a hard time choosing an accent color. You can’t tell, but the couch is pulled away from the wall and it’s a bay window and no idea how to dress it. Maybe Roman shades? The couch is huge so it will stay put. Thinking to order black high back wooden chairs for the table....there’s a bench in one side.

What are thoughts on white washing the fireplace and darkening the mantel?

Just a thought given your sectional looks to have various pieces, have you considered the longer part against the other wall or adjusting the pieces so that the window is not covered with your sofa?
