help with washing machine

It is a Whirlpool Duette Steam washing machine. My clothes are coming out wetter than usual. It is spinning but perhaps not as well as before as I need to leave the clothes in the dryer longer. Any ideas on what I should do?

Could be any number of things.

Suds lock, loose belt, bearings starting to go bad, wrong cycle used, wrong spin speed used, machine can't balance good enough to reach a high spin speed, main board not allowing a high spin speed, not draining correctly...etc.

Should I just wait and see what happens or should I have it looked at right away?

As the 1st comment says, listen to the machine and determine if it is spinning fast enough - for HE machines, there is usually a low spin speed first and then a higher spin speed if balance is acceptable. If you hear the machine making a lot of thunking/clunking noises (out of balance) and/or slowing down and turning back and forth to try to get a better balance, there's a fault there. If the clothes are wetter than usual as you say (HE machines seem to wring the clothes almost dry), that's the first place I would look.

There's also an easy fix is if it's the wrong cycle (delicate uses a lower spin speed) or setting.

I have this ~14-16 y.o. GE front loader in my house. It has the controls of an old manual top loader (one dial for cycle like an old top loader) and a selector switch for water temp (just 4 choices). Little to go wrong but it doesn't wring as well.

This topic prompted me to check and clean my dryer vent tube that comes out of the back of the dryer today. It was almost totally blocked up with lint again, just right inside of the vent in the wall, where the tube from the dryer connects to the vent. This is a good chore to perform at least once a year, or maybe even once every 6 months to make sure the vent to the outside is not getting clogged up with lint.

Thanks everyone. The dryer is not the issue. It is the washer, and it sounds like it is spinning abit slower, which is probably causing the clothes to not be as dry. Perhaps I will just keep an eye on it and see it if gets worse.

A quick search seems to indicate it's a somewhat common problem: faulty/buggy logic board. The good news is that the new revisions have supposedly been fixed.
