I plant the extras right next to the others in case some varmint eats them. I have no trouble tossing extras in the compost if no one wants them. It happens every year.

Well, your original question about "will they survive?" was an astute one! I was thinking, gee, why would he be wondering about planting plants in the ground? The ground is where they're supposed to be.

i am new at gardening and i am collecting for next year. i wish to have free seeds if you still have them. i don't care what they are and i will provide a sase. i'm sorry i do not have seeds to trade. this will be for my special needs daughter's garden for next year. if not that's ok

Free seeds are often easy to get. At the end of the season, stores are dumping them. Just ask.
