Window advice needed

In our bedroom, we have a sliding glass door, with smaller windows above - and I need advice for the best window treatments for them. The main purpose is to keep the sun out of the room in the mornings. My top priority is ease of use - I hate dark rooms so I want to be able to easily open them every morning. But I want something that looks good. We don’t use the sliding door that often, so it’s fine if that’s a bit inconvenient.

I was thinking maybe draperies that cover both the door and the windows above would make sense - but they would be quite long in that case. Would greatly welcome any suggestions to get started - including recommendations of where to purchase.

i'd go with the floor to ceiling drapes.

Floor to ceiling drapes is an excellent elegant classic selection.

However considering blinds will give you more lighting control, you can choose to cover the windows while leaving the doorway exposed.

A combination of both could be very functional as well.

I agree the best option is floor to ceiling drapes.

Have them hung so they just cover the side framework of the sliding doors, that way you will have the full view of window.

Transoms can be a delish decorative add, but in a bedroom with light-sensitive residents, they can be a pain.

I agree with others, floor to ceiling drapery. But I would like to add one more layer, with a sheer. Romantic and provides light-filtering option!

Then look at this option! Sheer Roman shades underneath the room-darkening drapery!

I agree that floor to ceiling drapes with a blackout lining are your best bet. Look at halfpricedrapes.com. They have lots of fabric and color options and their custom pricing is quite reasonable. If you have enough room to stack them all to the left, it will be easier to access the sliding door. A traverse rod would be the easiest way to open and close them on a twice daily basis.
